Sanctuary Seven Leadership Exchange

As you enter positions of trust and power, dream a little before you think.
— Toni Morrison

I partner with senior leaders at the inflection points that define their tenure, particularly those ready to do the hard work the role demands. My practice integrates systems thinking, leadership development, and operational strategy to help executives clarify direction, sharpen high-stakes decisions, and translate vision into disciplined execution.

The advisory work I do today rests on three decades of leading inside the systems I now advise. As Chief of Staff for Clark County Department of Family Services in Nevada, I led reform efforts that resolved two pending federal lawsuits, secured more than $2 million in public-private investment, and reduced foster care entries by 33 percent. At Casey Family Programs, I co-led the design and national scale of the Communities of Hope framework, a place-based reform model that reduced system involvement and expanded community-driven solutions.

Across senior roles at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, ICF International, Community Wealth Partners, and Caliber Associates, I have advised more than 40 public jurisdictions and partnered with national foundations including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, the Lumina Foundation, and the Centers for Disease Control Office of Health Equity.

Every engagement begins with a private conversation. From there, the work is shaped to the specific decision, transition, or system challenge at hand. Some clients engage me for a single high-stakes decision. Others retain the practice across longer horizons of organizational transformation. The constant is the standard: rigorous thinking, honest assessment, and disciplined execution.

I bring the discipline of someone who has sat in the executive seat and the perspective of someone who has spent decades advising those who do. I am direct, analytical, and grounded in evidence. I am also genuinely interested in the people I work with, because I believe leadership is ultimately a relational practice and the best strategy work happens when trust is real.
